Trip to Washington

The middle of July we headed up to Washington.  We met Taylor's family in Longbeach, WA where they had rented a beach house to stay at for a week.  It was a lot of fun.  The kids had fun as always with their cousins.  It's fun to see how easily they warm up to each other, they haven't seen each other since Christmas and it was as if they had seen them all just last week.  We got in at 3:30am Thursday morning and stayed until Monday.  It was a lot of fun.  The beach was beautiful and although it was on the cooler side (upper 60's, lower 70's) it was a blast.  It didn't stop the kids from wanting to get into the water or play in the sand.  They were having a sand castle contest while we were there, it was amazing the creations people can make out of the sand.  A lot of memories were made during the trip and the kids had a blast.  Thanks to Taylor's parents for planning and allowing us this super fun vacation.

It was the first time our kids had ever seen the beach so I wanted to get a first reaction picture.  These are of them coming up over the hill and seeing the ocean for the first time.

They all loved the sand and they enjoyed the water too!!

Preston was super tired and couldn't wait to go to sleep.

Brayden, Kaitlyn, Megan, Alexis, Briella

Alexis sat and played out in the little island of sand forever...the tide started to come in...she was bummed her sand had disappeared.

Just loungin' in the warm sand

Preston finally woke up and enjoyed watching everyone play...all he really wanted to do was eat the sand...

The path we would take to get to the beach from the beach house

One of the nights we built a fire and roasted marshmellows

Proof that I was on the trip...me and my Brayden Boy!!

The sandcastle contest...incredible

Marissa...very proud to be an American!!

You can kind of see it but Alexis has a little tiny kite she is pulling behind her.  She ran around pulling that for quite awhile.  I love that she has her tongue hanging out, silly girl!

It was quite a windy day so we strategically parked the cars on either side of us to block the wind.  It was perfect and almost too hot.

Although it was a misty day the weather was one of the warmer days we had.  The kids had a blast and they actually were able to put their swim suits on and go swimming out in the ocean.

Brayden loved paling around with Uncle Griffen, you could tell Griffen enjoyed the attention too.

To get to Longbeach we had to cross this amazingly tall and super long bridge, it was beautiful and the kids thought it was pretty amazing.  The pictures don't quite do it justice.

We had family pictures taken, it was quite an experience...it was extremely cold, the kids were tired and I was the photographer and had to be in the picture as well, so it was hard to do the posing and get everyone looking at the camera.  But considering the circumstances they turned out pretty good and for the most part everyone looked at the camera.  It's just fun to have a picture of us all together.
