The 4th of July Weekend and Week

Because the fourth of July was on a Sunday this year there was some debate as to which days the holiday would be celebrated. In some parts of Idaho it was on Saturday, in other parts in was on Sunday and then in Utah is was on Monday. Taylor unfortunately had to go to scout camp on Monday, so it took some creative planning to get our weekend all worked out.

On Friday we went with some friends in our ward out to Murtaugh Lake (we had no idea this lake existed and it's only about a 15 minute drive) to go boating and camping. I was really bummed that I forgot my camera when we were on the boat because Kaitlyn went out on the tube with Taylor and loved every second of it. I was going to get pictures when we went out on Saturday morning but the weather was really cold and windy so we didn't go out on the lake. We went camping and had a great time, the girls loved standing by the fire in their p.j.'s and doing the sparklers.

Alexis loved wearing her p.j.'s with her shoesThe BBQ Chef

Ooh Sparklers

Saturday when we got home from camping we all crashed, camping wears you out! When we all woke up from our naps, we ordered a pizza and headed to a park to have a fun evening. The girls love going to the park. It was a fun family weekend.

A short hike up the hill

Sunday after church me and the girls packed up and we headed down to Utah. Taylor had scout camp on Monday and was going to be gone until Wednesday. I decided I would stay down in Utah till Thursday so I didn't have to be home while Taylor was gone. We had a great time with family and the 4th of July Festivities were a lot of fun. Monday was the Provo Parade, the girls loved every second of it.
Waiting for the parade to start
The "parade goers" the crowd is getting smaller, but we still enjoy it just as much! ;-)L to R: Uncle Gary, Uncle Farrell, Aunt Sherrie, Aunt Susan, my cousin Taylor

Super excited the parade was starting
The first of many otter pops Alexis ate during the week
The gorgeous flowers in my parents yard.
Sparkler time with Grandpa. Both girls loved it!
Oooooooh....Awwwwww!!
Nothing better than the "cul-de-sac of fire"!It was a great holiday other than Taylor wasn't with us. The girls had a fun time at Grandma and Grandpa's house, they always love the attention from everyone. Thanks for everyone's help during the week we were there.

Ohh! I'm so jealous! We really missed being there, but one of these years we won't have so many weddings to attend and we might be able to come down for a holiday instead! Love you!
