Spring Break at the Cabin

For spring break most people head south to warmer weather.  Well, we did just to opposite!  We went up to my parents cabin in Oakley, Utah.  Looking online they were saying there was 22" of snow, but driving up there I was skeptical.  The closer we got the more snow there was and sure enough there was at least 22" of snow. While we were there we probably got 6 more inches as well.   My parents came up with us and they brought their razer or otherwise known as "the beast".  It was our only way of transportation from the parking lot and the cabin.  It was a lot of fun.  We went up on Wednesday and came home Saturday.  It was so nice to go up and relax and have nothing to do.  We watched movies at 9 in the morning or whenever we wanted to(the kids got their fill in of "Frozen") and played games at all times of the day.  It was fun to see the kids play with my Mom and Dad and build memories with them.

My Mom brought up airplanes for the kids to throw around.  They had a lot of fun throwing them off the loft balcony.  We would then throw them back to them, over and over.  It was a lot of fun.

Preston had fun sitting by the door watching the kids throw their airplanes, I got some cute pictures of him.

Cute girls sitting on the cabin stairs.  They can be so silly sometimes, I love them to pieces and their cute little personalities.

We had lots of game playing, which the kids love to play any kind of game.  We also played "war" with dart guns my Mom brought up.  It was a "blast" (hehehe).  We all had guns with 6 darts each.  We first did girls against boys and then did teams and finally it was every man for himself.  It was so much fun, the kids had a great time running around and trying to be the last one alive.

There was lots of snow and the kids enjoyed playing out in it since we don't get much snow in Kimberly.  Plus it was fun to go sledding down the big road right in front of the cabin.

Mom pulling Preston up the hill

He loved going for the ride...

...until he tipped over and didn't like the cold snow on his hands.  (I know your thinking why doesn't he have any gloves on his hands...well, like I said we don't get any snow so I didn't have any snow stuff for him. It was actually quite warm too.  By the time we left the snow was melting and you could see parts of the road.)

Proof that I was actually there :).
Taylor talked me into driving "the beast" down the hill so the kids didn't have to walk back up (it's a really long steep hill to have to walk up).  I was really hesitant but I really did like driving it.  It would be fun to have one of these one day.

Getting ready to go down the hill.

The side of the cabin, if you look closely you can see Mom and Preston on the road waiting for the kids to come down the hill.

After we went sledding that day we actually went into Kamas, which is only 20 minutes away and went swimming at their indoor swimming pool.  It was a lot of fun and the kids were tuckered out.  It was so much fun to spend time with my Mom and Dad and to have a break from everything.  Now that we had a taste of snow, I am ready for spring.
