Roller Skating

As a family we decided to read the Book of Mormon and set a goal try to have it read by the time Kaitlyn gets baptized in May 2015.  I found a few incentives on Pinterest  here and here that have helped us keep track of where we are and some fun goals to look forward to when we have finished a book.  We actually finished 1 Nephi back in May, our activity was to go ice skating, (as if we were skating away from Jerusalem, just like Lehi an his family do) but we don't have an ice rink so we did the next best thing...roller skating.  We actually went the day before Brayden's birthday back in June and we also told him it was to celebrate his birthday as well.  He loved the fact that we were going skating for his birthday.  I know I am late at posting this but the kids are quite excited because we are now 2 chapters away from finishing 2 Nephi.  We get to go get ice cream.  They have been troopers and are so proud that they have read so much.  It has been a good experience for our family.  If you want to find out more about the Book of Mormon or our beliefs you can go to our church website here.

Taylor's parents and sister were down from Washington to spend a few days with us and celebrate Brayden's birthday they came skating with us as well.  It was a lot of fun and the kids caught on pretty quick.  The girls got to a point where they didn't have to hold your hand as they skated around, they were having a blast. It is amazing to me how little bodies can hop right up after falling but us older ones it sure does put a toll on our bodies.

Anxiously waiting to go skating

Preston was too little to skate but he loved riding around with Taylor.  He would cry every time his turn ended.

Grammie giving hugs.

They had races for all the different ages.  Taylor jumped in to see if he could do it.  He would have had a chance had the roller derby girl not been in the race.

I was quite impressed at how fast he went for not being a regular skater!!  Way to go Taylor!
