We were all having fun but Preston was getting pretty tired and he just kept crying, which means it's bed time. But we were sleeping outside and there was no way he would have gone to sleep out there with the kids running around. So we decided to put him to bed in the house and I ended up sleeping in the house with him while Taylor and and the rest of the kids slept in the tent. Unfortunately, by about 2 am there was a big wind storm that came up with 30 mile hour winds so everyone came running inside. Needless to say we were all pretty tired from a restless nights sleep.
On Monday we decided to try an easy hike to go on so we packed a picnic and piled into the car and headed for the south hills. It was a beautiful day. We found a hike to go on that said it was great for families and kids and it lead to a waterfall. At first it started out really steep, almost too steep for Taylor and I to get up let alone carrying kids up it. But it was pretty easy once we got on the trail. Unfortunately, I don't think we were on the right trail because it was only 3/4 of a mile long and we went a lot longer than that and never came to a waterfall. We did follow a stream and when we got to a good stopping point we took a rest and threw rocks into the water. Then headed back down. By the end the kids were done and hungry so it was a good thing we packed a lunch. We found a picnic table and enjoyed the rest of the afternoon.
Excited to climb the mountain
At our stopping point
Taylor hiked up a little further to see if he could see the waterfall but he said the trial ended, so somehow we picked the wrong trail to follow.
Getting ready to throw in a big rock with Dad
