Cake, Conference and Company

Preston's birthday was  a week ago today.  It's hard to believe he is already one.  He is adorable and we love having him in our family.  He has truly made our family complete.  My parents came up for conference and we decided to celebrate his birthday and Alexis' birthday (which will be on Oct 15th) while they were here.  My sister Amy decided to come up as well with her hubby Bryce and little baby Ryder.  It was so much fun to have them here with us.  It was a great weekend with great company!  Plus it was a bonus to be able to watch general conference as well.  It's always so inspiring to listen to the words of the prophet and our other leaders. Unfortunately, the only pictures I took were the ones of the kids opening presents and eating cake, but at least I got pictures of that right?

I have been taking a wilton cake decorating class through Michaels and was able to practice some of the techniques I learned on their cakes.  I was please with how they turned out

 Getting ready to sing

Preston couldn't wait to taste his

"Happy Birthday to you, happy Birthday to you, happy birthday to Alexis and Brayden, Happy Birthday to you"

We took the cake away so we could cut it...he wasn't too happy about that.

Next was present time

I think he was still a little sad about his cake being taken away because this was his reaction for most of it.  Hey I guess if it's your party you can cry if you want too, right?

He has loved the toys he got, Thank you Grandma and Grandpa and Bryce, Amy and Ryder

Alexis has loved the dolls and basketball hoop she got.  There is not a day that goes by where she isn't playing with them.  Kaitlyn and Brayden have loved playing with them too.

He finally got his cake, and gobbled it right up

Alexis scarfed hers down as well.

Happy Birthday sweet Alexis and Preston we love you so much!

Happy Birthday Preston and Alexis!! Your cakes turned out adorable! Don't you love the Wilton courses? They are fantastic! I took 2 of them before Kyla was born and I learned a lot! So glad your parents got to come up for conference.
