Preston, eating rice cereal for the first time (2/6/13). Like most babies he didn't like it.
Right after we blessed Preston his skin started to break out into a rash on his cheeks and forehead, it then proceeded to cover his whole body. We took him to the doctor and they proceeded to have us try several different creams. They had us trying different lotions and shampoos and changing our laundry detergent. It was quite frustrating. It was very irritating for the little guy and it just itched him all the time. He would scratch it and then it would bleed and it would then get infected and puss everywhere. I wasn't able to kiss on his cheeks and it made it quite difficult to hold him. Through it all he was quite a happy baby though. By the middle of February I had had enough of it and we decided to take him to a dermatologist. We should have done it in the very beginning. We found out he has Atopic Dermatitis. She said that he would eventually grow out of it but we don't know when. She gave him some cream and lotion and some medicine to help with the itching. Within 2 days there was a major difference. He was the happiest baby on earth. If only we had done it sooner. He is now getting better and his face and skin is clearing up. The doctor said that he will probably break out again when he gets a cold or cuts a tooth, basically it's something we will have to deal with. It's a lot easier knowing what your dealing with and how to deal with it then when you have know idea of what is wrong with your baby. I am glad we could figure out what was wrong and how to make him better.
I love it when they start to hold on to toys
