5 Year Anniversary

Last Thursday, August 5th was our 5th anniversary, because Taylor was busy with work we decided to celebrate it on Saturday. A family in our ward had Taylor put some cabinets in their basement and as a thank you gave us a gift certificate to Jaker's and free babysitting. We decided to have them babysit the girls Saturday afternoon and we went Kayaking. There is a place that will rent out kayaks and canoes to take on the Snake river. We were disappointed when we found out they were all out of double kayaks so we ended up getting single kayaks which ended up being way fun. Unfortunately, we forgot our camera. Thankfully we had Taylor's phone, but for some reason they aren't all that clear but you get the idea and proof that we were there. The weather was beautiful and it was a lot of fun to spend some quality uninterrupted time with each other.

We kayaked up the river and came to the first set of falls called Pillar falls, it was small and a bunch of kids were playing all over it. It was beautiful, but we didn't even think to take a picture of it. We carried the kayaks about 75 yds. over the falls and then finished kayaking up the river to Shoshone Falls. It was very spectacular to be that close to such a big beautiful waterfall. It really made us feel small as we got closer and closer to the water. What an awesome experience. We had a great time and enjoyed every second of it. The bad thing was we forgot to bring sunscreen and our legs and arms were fried!! I guess we learned our lesson and will make sure to have it on hand for next time. That night we got a babysitter and went out to dinner at Jaker's. It was so nice to go to dinner and end the day at a nice restaurant. We had a wonderful anniversary and have enjoyed the last 5 years together, amazing how fast the time fly's by. I can't wait for the following years to come, I know they will be wonderful because I am married to a wonderful man and my best friend!
