Taylor rented a Rota Tiller and plowed out the area where we are going to put our garden. The dirt had been in place for quite a few years so it was quite hard. What we thought was going to be a 45 minute job, ended up being a 3 hour back breaking, hand blistering experience. Despite the grueling work he got the job done and we are excited to see what we can grow this summer. We also discovered that we have apple, cherry, peach, and pear trees on our property that are chuck full of fruit. I think we are going to have to learn how to do some canning this year.

It looks like Kaitlyn and Kathryn would get along fabulously! Kate is enthralled by the hose as well. And has her momma's love for the dirt.
Isn't it nice to have a yard to play in? We've enjoyed being able to do the things we have this year in ours. I'm super jealous of your fruit trees! I'd love to plant a peach and/or apricot but don't have a good space for them. If we were closer, I'd gladly show you how to can some of it!
Next time, to make it easier on Taylor -- water the ground really well the day before. It helps to loosen the soil up for tilling. ;)
That is funny that she loved the hose so much. The garden area looks great! I can't wait to see it.
Yaay for gardening! I think we are going to clear out the area for ours today.. and spencer is going to move the big dirt pile that's to the right of our door so I can have a little flower bed :) I'm so excited! I can't wait to be able to can with you guys this year, that will be so much fun.
That Marecle green thumb is sure contagious. It is nice to work (and play) in the yard, especially when the kids are outside with you enjoying all the action. I am totally jealous of all the fruit trees - not that I know how to can or anything - but my family would eat a ton of it! Have a fun time outside.
Those are some great pics. I love the ones where Kaitlyn is playing in the water! I can't wait to hear what you are having. :)
